Hody's Grill
About This Spot
Stepping into Hody's Grill on Roosevelt Road feels like slipping into a comfortable corner of an old neighborhood where familiar faces and easy conversations are part of the morning ritual. The pace is unhurried yet purposeful, a balance struck perfectly for both early risers setting out on their day and those who savor lingering over comforting plates. The air hums quietly with the soft clatter of coffee cups and the low murmur of regulars exchanging greetings — a space that warmly invites you to settle in and feel at home.
There’s an honest simplicity in the atmosphere here, reminiscent of Southern diners that have long been community anchors. It’s a place where the kitchen’s rhythm flows quietly but confidently, offering hearty breakfasts that carry a touch of nostalgia without pretense. Whether it’s the satisfying sizzle of breakfast staples or the sight of a perfectly toasted piece of buttered bread, every detail feels grounded in care and familiarity.
What makes Hody’s Grill special is how it effortlessly bridges quiet afternoons and bustling early mornings. Truck drivers, families, and longtime patrons all find a spot at the counter or a booth, sharing moments that feel less like rushing through a meal and more like weaving a small part of their daily stories together. The food embraces well-worn favorites — rich, savory, and thoughtfully crafted to fuel a day ahead — just as much as it welcomes new locals discovering their next reliable go-to.
In the mosaic of Cicero’s dining options, Hody’s Grill stands out as a softly glowing beacon of familiarity—where the welcome is as genuine as the food is straightforward and satisfying. It’s the kind of place you visit not just to eat, but to pause, recharge, and feel quietly connected to the neighborhood’s unfolding life.

I love this eatery. A true throwback to my past clubbing days. Now I stop by for breakfast after my AM route. Unfortunately they're not open 24hrs anymore but they open at 8am and they make my order as requested by 7:45 so I can keep rolling on transporting special needs children to/from school. The owner is a true gem. Her son is my favorite cook. Although my dietary restrictions caused me to lessen my visits, I am still their #1 customer and I appreciate commendable customer service.

I stopped by today with my grandson for a bit and some hangout time. The food taste like home cooked. I had some eggs with grits and amazing butter toasted bread. The atmosphere is like sitting in a Southern diner very pleasant. I hope others well come experience a great meal. The price is also inexpensive.
